An introduction and confession

My name is Daniel Youngblood, and I have a problem. I actually have many, but the one I’m confessing to you today is a biggie. I watch entirely too much TV.

There, I admitted it. I am a TV junkie.

I watch it when I’m bored. I watch it when I’m not. It’s what I do with my free time. If I’m home and not otherwise occupied, my TV is on and I’m watching something. I simply can’t get enough.

But here’s the thing, this is the one problem I have that I don’t plan on fixing. And if I can’t – or more accurately, won’t – change it, I might as well write about it. And that’s precisely what I plan to do here.

Knowing that I’m not alone, I’ll share with other self-confessed – or closeted – TV junkies what and how I’m watching and throw out a recommendation or two. And it’s my hope that you, the readers, will get involved and throw some right back my way.

We are, in my opinion, in the midst of TV’s golden age. Never before have there been so many quality shows across so many genres. And with box sets available and an ocean of archived content through subscription-based models like Netflix and Hulu Plus, they’ve never been more accessible.

If you’re not taking advantage of it, you should be. It’s my goal, through this blog, to help you do that.

So read, enjoy and interact. I want to know what you’re watching and what I should be too. I have a mountain of shows I’m watching, re-watching or plan one day to get to. But I’m always open to adding another iron to the fire.
